Dalit IV

Ing Paraláya at Ing Paróba
Paraláya and Paróba

4:1
Kng gabun támung palsintan,
Bábo ning Indûng Dápung nuan,
Karin na la ménuknangan,
Bápûng Aldo! Ginung Búlan!

On our beloved earth,
Above our blessed Crocodile Mother,
The twins decided to live,
Our blessed lords Sun and Moon!

4:2
Búsal ning pátag maliuálas,
Atin bunduk sárî kátas,
Pinílî ning Aldo mátas,
Bunduk Aláya táng uagas.

In the midst of the vast central plains,
Rose a lone mountain so high,
The Lord Sun chose it for his abode,
Mount Aláya so pure and perfect.

4:3 *
At kéti migsíduan na ya,
Ginung Aldo ning Aláya,
Ápûng Sukû ing aus da,
Ulî ning matagumpé ya.

And so here he reigned,
Our Lord Sun of Aláya,
Ápûng Sukû is how we called him,

Invincible Ancestor is what it means.

4:4
Karin naman kng paróba,
Atin mú rin bunduk mála,
Pinatúbû ing aus da,
Saútan ding pikabsian tá.

And there opposite to Mount Aláya ~ Paróba,
Also sits a very noble mountain,
Pinatúbû is how we called it,
Source of all the nourishment we need.

4:5
Ualung ilug nang agúsan,
Kakauén ding dakal asan,
Pati áyup mamugáran,
Babî’t usa pikabsian ngan.

From her flows eight fertile rivers,
Teeming with a lot fresh fish,
Birds and fowl crowd her banks,
Boar and deer as well.

4:6
Keni néman menuknángan,
Ginung Búlan támung málam,
Ápûng Maliári yang ausan,
Ulî kng babié nang kálam.

In this fertile mountain lived,
Our beloved Moon,
Ápûng Maliári was how we called him,
For there was nothing impossible that he could grant.

4:7
Ginulis dé ping makanian,
Ing Indû táng Kapampángan,
Kng búsal ya ing Aláya,
Pinatúbû kng paróba.

This is how the gods designed our world,
Our beloved Kapampángan Mother,
At her navel was Mount Aláya,
On her western flank was Mount Pinatúbû.

4:8
Dápot siduan dóng miagnan,
Ding aduâ támung núnûng nuan,
Bunduk sukat pabanálan!
Banté ning Indû táng Tibuan!

These two mountains were the capital,
Of our twin ancestral gods,
Twin mountains equally sacred,
Faithful sentinels of our Earth Mother!
